How to build personal self-confidence and purpose

A feeling of low self-esteem or any lack of confidence is usually attributed to an event in a person’s life that had a lasting impact. This same feeling can also leave us feeling worthless when it leads us to lack purpose throughout our lives. The same can also be said when we find confidence creating the opposite effect.

In the same way that you build personal self-confidence and purpose, a lack of it saps your desire to achieve anything worthwhile, and it’s all too easy to give up on any dreams and aspirations you might have for yourself. We must first understand that any situation in which we find ourselves, good or bad, was caused by circumstances that we had complete control over.

While it may seem difficult to believe that we have any control over the turbulent times in our past, the simple fact is that we all have a choice in the way we live our lives and the ability to control them. If we have been experiencing any lack of confidence or motivation in our lives, now is the time to rectify the situation before we fall further into a less empowered situation.

When we begin to understand that any change can be made in a single moment and when it is positive change, it is very clear how you build personal self-confidence and purpose. Having a goal is something each of us must strive for and without it, we meander through life with no direction.

Within all of us is a burning desire to achieve something we are passionate about, whether it be an interest and hobby or a call to change the world in some way. Whatever it is, I’m sure there is something that makes you feel good. There may have been a time when you were passionate about a project and decided to listen to someone who just wanted to steal your dream. This is one of the reasons we give up on our dreams, our self-confidence is eroded.

We have to be strong enough to know what we want and unless it is from a trusted source offering valuable criticism, we have to stay focused with our attention. Whenever anyone wants to give us any advice and some pointers along the way, it’s usually mixed with a healthy dose of encouragement. These are the things that build character and with a strong willed desire and purpose in mind, our self-confidence will begin to soar.
